Local Junior Achievement chapter to hold fourth annual unique, sweet fundraiser bash
ALTOONA - The Blair county chapter of Junior Achievement will hold its fourth annual Death by Chocolate fundraising event on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Cesare Battisti, Altoona, PA. The event is sponsored by Peoples Natural Gas.
Tickets are $20 each; corporate tables are $150 for 8 seats. Tickets may be purchased at the Cesare Battisti or by calling Reliance Bank, downtown Altoona, at 814-949-6287. Proceeds benefit the Blair county chapter of Junior Achievement.
The Death by Chocolate event will feature chocolate desserts by local companies, musical artist Keena, chocolate-liqueur beverages, as well as light appetizers.
Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers, and provides relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
Today, JA reaches more than 60,500 students in western PA through some 3,000 local volunteers. Locally, JA of Blair County reaches more than 2,700 students with more than 75 volunteers.
