Do bats get in your hair? Are they blind? Bring the family as we separate fact from fiction and learn more about these amazing night creatures. Join Heidi Mullendore of Canoe Creek State Park to find out how bats survive and benefit the environment. You'll also learn about white nose syndrome and how it is impacting bat populations in Pennsylvania, and how bat boxes are being used to help bats.

 

Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site is located 10 miles west of Altoona, Pennsylvania off the Gallitzin exit of U.S. Highway 22. The park preserves portions of the first railroad crossing of the Allegheny Mountains. This unique railroad connected the eastern and western divisions of the Pennsylvania Mainline Canal.
