My visit with Eti the baby kangaroo

Yesterday was delightful! I stopped for lunch with some friends, including WALY 103.9 part-time air personality J.J. Jackson, at the Blair County Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Deb is the woman who runs the place, and she's devoted her entire life to helping wild animals in need. And she does an incredible job! A lot of the beautiful animals there have been rescued from horrific conditions, and what she does for them is nothing short of amazing and insipiring.Currently in residence are monkeys, a lemur, peacocks, flying squirrels, a pig, and lots of other beautiful critters.

Right now she's raising a baby kangaroo named Eti, and I got to spend a little time with her. In the video, she's crawling on my lap.

Tours are available and they're always in need of donations.
