Search Continues for Coach

Penn State is still looking for its next head football coach. Multiple reports say the school’s search committee met with Vanderbilt’s James Franklin and former Titans coach Mike Munchak yesterday. Miami head coach Al Golden withdrew his candidacy for the position. Munchak played for legendary coach Joe Paterno at Penn State and Franklin is a native of Langhorne, located near Philadelphia.


Police Investigate Burglaries

State College Police continue to investigate 22 reported burglaries occurring over the past month and a half. Police say in each case, no one was home and doors were locked. Thieves commonly stole electronics, such as computers, televisions and video game systems from the residences. Similar incidents normally occur during the holidays when Penn State students are on break. Anyone suspecting suspicious behavior should call police immediately.


Defamation Suit Hearing Tomorrow 

A hearing to determine the future of a defamation lawsuit filed by former Penn State President Graham Spanier will take place on tomorrow at the Centre County Courthouse. Spanier is attempting to delay the suit against former FBI director Louis Freeh and his team until the end of the former administrator’s criminal trial. The hearing was previously scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 pm. According to the Centre Daily Times, Spanier’s lawyer requested the change due to a schedule conflict.
