HIT AND RUN INVESTIGATION

State College police continue to investigate a fatal hit and run accident from last year. According to Statecollege.com, police are offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. The incident occurred on February 12th, 2013 at mile marker 72.6 on Interstate-99. 32-year-old Sherry Rae Houtz of Bellefonte was killed in the accident, which occurred between 3:45 and 4:03 am.

PENN STATE SORORITY SHUT DOWN

A Penn State sorority chapter shut down earlier this week, more than a year after being placed on probation for a racially offensive picture. According to the Centre Daily Times, the decision to close the Chi Omega’s Nu Gamma chapter at Penn State was mutual between the national organization and student members. During the 2012 fall semester, a photo showed young women wearing Latin American garb with signs reading “will mow for weed and beer” and “I don’t cut grass, I smoke it.”
