PRIMANTI BROTHERS TO REPLACE THE GINGERBREAD MAN

THE GINGERBREAD MAN WILL BE CLOSING FOLLOWING THE ARTS FESTIVAL NEXT MONTH. THE POPULAR PITTSBURGH BASED SANDWICH SHOP AND BAR PRIMANTI BROTHERS IS EXPECTED TO TAKE ITS PLACE. GMAN HAS TERMINATED THE MAJORITY OF ITS NON SALARIED STAFF IN PREPARATION OF NEXT MONTHS CLOSING. THE STATE COLLEGE BAR IS CURRENTLY OPERATING ON A CONDITIONAL LIQUOR LICENSE AFTER COMMITTING NINE VIOLATIONS IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS. 

HUNTINGDON BOY INJURED BY CAR

AN 8 YEAR OLD BOY SUFFERED MODERATE INJURIES AFTER COLLIDING WITH A CAR WHILE RIDING HIS BIKE ON FRIDAY. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON PLEASANT HILL ROAD IN DUBLIN TOWNSHIP. THE DRIVER, 21 YEAR OLD DALTON HAMILTON, ATTEMPTED TO PASS THE BOY BUT THE CHILD DID NOT SEE HAMILTON. THE BOY DRIFTED INTO THE EASTBOUND LANE  AND CONNECTED WITH THE PASSANGER SIDE OF HAMILTONS CAR, HITTING HIS UNPROTECTED HEAD. THE BIKE RIDER WAS TRANSPORTED IN A HELICOPTER TO UMPC ALTOONA.

POLICE INVESTIGATING INDECENT EXPOSURE

STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING ALLEGATIONS OF INDECENT EXPOSURE INVOLVING A YOUNG GIRL. NOT MUCH INFORMATION CONCERNING THE INCIDENT HAS BEEN RELEASED BUT STATE POLICE SAID THE ALLEGED INCIDENT OCCURRED AT BLACK MOSHANNON STATE PARK A FEW WEEKS AGO. THE AUTHORITIES BELIEVE IT WAS A MALE JUVENILE EXPOSING HIMSELF TO A FEMALE JUVENILE AT ONE OF THE CABINS LOCATED ON THE PARK GROUNDS. THE STATE POLICE ARE HANDLING THE INCIDENT AS AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION. 

GREGG TOWNSHIP HOME INVASION

MORE THAN 3000 DOLLARS WAS STOLEN FROM A HOME IN GREGG TOWNSHIP. STATE POLICE IN ROCKVIEW SAID THAT THE INTRUDER ENTERED THE HOME THROUGH AN UNSECURED DOOR AND FLED THE SCENE AFTER STEALING  3,540 DOLLARS. THE INTRUSION OCCURRED IN A HOME ON BACH LANE BETWEEN 3:15 AND 6:30 PM. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE BREAK IN IS ASKED TO CONTACT POLICE AT 355-7545. 

SANDUSKY CASE REVIEW SET TO BE RELEASED

A REVIEW OF HOW PROSECUTORS AND POLICE CONDUCTED THE JERRY SANDUSKY CHILD MOLESTATION CASE WILL BE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC LATER THIS MORNING AT A CAPITOL NEWS CONFERENCE. THE REPORT WAS DONE BY LAW PROFESSOR AND FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTOR GEOFF MOULTON. ATTORNEY GENERAL KATHLEEN KANE HAS OPENLY SUGGESTED THAT THEN ATTORNEY GENERAL TOM CORBETT HAD A POLITICAL INCENTIVE TO SLOW THE INVESTIGATION IN HIS GUBERNATORIAL PURSUIT IN 2010. CORBETT HAS STRONGLY DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS. 

LUKE BRYAN CONCERT GARBAGE 

ACCORDING TO PITTSBURGH MAYER BILL PEDUTO, PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIALS BROKE UP 15 FIGHTS, FERRIED 34 PEOPLE TO HOSPITALS, AND RESPONDED TO AT LEAST 150 EMERGENCY CALLS RELATED TO SATURDAY NIGHT’S LUKE BRYAN CONCERT AT HEINZ FIELD.

THE CONCERT DREW AN ESTIMATED 50 THOUSAND FANS TO THE SHOW BY THE COUNTRY SUPERSTAR. TAILGATERS ARRIVING UP TO NINE HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT LEAVING BEHIND MOUNDS OF TRASH IN THE PARKING LOTS, SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS AND IN THE ALLEGHENY RIVER.

WHILE OFFICIALS DID ACKNOWLEDGE THE MESS WAS NOT AS BAD AS THAT LEFT BEHIND AFTER LAST YEAR’S KENNY CHESNEY CONCERT, MAYOR PEDUTO STATED THAT CONCERT PROMOTERS MAY BE BILLED FOR THE CLEANUP OF FUTURE EVENTS.
