SCHOOL STABBING

THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO THE MASS STABBING AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN MURRYSVILLE. THE LAWYER FOR 16 YEAR OLD ALEX HRIBAL, THE 16-YEAR-OLD BOY ACCUSED OF STABBING 22 PEOPLE IN THE SCHOOL WEDNESDAY, SAYS HIS CLIENT WAS DAZED "LIKE A DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS" HOURS AFTER THE INCIDENT AND DOESN'T SEEM TO FULLY GRASP THE ENORMITY OF HIS ACTIONS. THE ATTORNEY MAY BE LAYING THE GROUNDWORK FOR A POSSIBLE MENTAL HEALTH DEFENSE AND HE IS TRYING TO HAVE THE CASE MOVED TO JUVENILE COURT. 10 STUDENTS REMAIN HOSPITALIZED, 3 IN CRITICAL CONDITION.

BABY BURNED ON PURPOSE

JOHNSTOWN POLICE SAY 23 YEAR OLD EARL SAUNDERS OF THE OAKHURST HOMES IS IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY JAIL, CHARGED WITH INTENTIONALLY BURNING HIS 6 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER BACK IN FEBRUARY. POLICE SAY SAUNDERS PUT THE GIRL IN THE BATH TUB WITH SCALDING HOT WATER AND THE CHILD SUFFERED SECOND DEGREE BURNS OVER 20-PERCENT OF HER BODY. SAUNDERS TOLD AUTHORITIES HE DID IT BECAUSE HE WAS ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED. A PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED APRIL 30TH.

RAPE VICTIM SUES PRISON

THE FORMER ROCKVIEW STATE PRISON CLERICAL WORKER WHO WAS RAPED, BEATEN, AND STRANGLED BY INMATE OMAR BEST LAST JULY IS NOW SUING THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, THE PRISON, HER BOSS AND THE WARDEN WHO WAS DEMOTED AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE WOMAN’S ATTORNEYS CLAIM THAT SAFETY PROTOCOLS IMPLEMENTED AFTERWARDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN PLACE LONG BEFORE. THE CLERK…WHO HAD PREVIOUSLY COMPLAINED ABOUT BEST MAKING HER UNCOMFORTABLE…WAS LEFT ALONE WITH HIM FOR 27 MINUTES AND SHE SOUNDED AN EMERGENCY WHISTLE BEFORE THE ASSAULT BUT NO HELP ARRIVED. BEST HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER STATE PRISON AND IS EXPECTED TO FACE TRIAL MAY 20TH.

IN CAMBRIA COUNTY COURT YESTERDAY, 29 YEAR OLD MATTHEW NADOLSKY OF WINDBER WAIVED HIS PRELIMINARY HEARING. A BULLET FROM HIS GUN KILLED HUNTER TIMOTHY BRUCE OF ASHVILLE IN DECEMBER…AND THE GAME COMMISSION CHARGED NADOLSKY WITH SHOOTING AT OR CAUSING INJURY TO A HUMAN BEING.

RAISING THE MINIMUM WAGE?
