NOW, STATE REPRESENTATIVE SCOTT CONKLIN WANTS TO CHANGE THAT. HE’S PROPOSED HOUSE BILL 990 AND IF IT IS PASSED, EACH COUNTY WILL BE ABLE TO HIRE A HUMANE OFFICER TO ENFORCE ANIMAL CRUELTY LAWS. CONKLIN SAYS ANIMAL LOVERS CAN CALL THEIR LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES TO SUPPORT THE BILL. HAINES CLAIMS THE YELLOW LAB NAMED BEAU DIED 4 OR 5 DAYS EARLIER OF UNKNOWN CAUSES AND HE COULDN’T BURY IT BECAUSE THE GROUND WAS FROZEN.

ARREST FOLLOWING STANDOFF

POLICE WERE ABLE TO CONVINCE HIM TO SURRENDER AFTER A TENSE 7 HOURS. DREIBELBIS IS CHARGED WITH 2 COUNTS OF SIMPLE ASSAULT AND ONE COUNT OF MAKING TERRORISTIC THREATS.

SENTENCING FOLLOWING DUI CRASH

SENTENCING TODAY IN CENTRE COUNTY COURT FOR 25-YEAR-OLD ALEX BROWN WHO WAS FOUND GUILTY OF AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WHILE DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. IN NOVEMBER 2009, HE CRASHED IN STATE COLLEGE AND HIS FEMALE PASSENGER WAS TRAPPED IN THE CAR WITH SERIOUS INJURIES. BROWN FLED THE SCENE AND RETURNED TO THE HOUSE PARTY WHERE HE HAD BEEN EARLIER.
