Johnstown Police are CALLINg the death of a 10-month-old boy A HOMICIDE. SHAWN HILL OF MOXHAM TELLS WJAC HIS SON, BRENNON EVErett, fell and hit his head AugUST 15TH. HE Was on life support at Children's HOSPITAL IN PITTSBURGH until Monday WHEN HE WAS TAKEN OFF LIFE SUPPORT. HE DIED Wednesday. The Allegheny County Coroner’s Office DID an autopsy YESTERDAY. 32 YEAR OLD JENNIFER SLOAN OF CRESSON WAS LOCKED UP IN THE BLAIR COUNTY PRISON YESTERDAY FOR VIOLATING HER PAROLE. SHE IS CURRENTLY AWAITING TRIAL ON VEHICULAR HOMICIDE CHARGES FOR THE 2013 CRASH THAT KILLED CONNIE NAYLOR OF DYSART ALONG ROUTE 22. UNDER TERMS OF HER BAIL, SHE COULD NOT COMMIT ANOTHER CRIME. 2 WEEKS AGO, SLOAN WAS ARRESTED BY STATE POLICE IN LEWISTOWN WHEN SHE WAS SPOTTED DRIVING RECKLESSLY ALONG ROUTE 322 IN JUNIATA COUNTY. HER BLOOD ALCOHOL WAS TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT.

A new poll is showing the race for Governor may be tighter than originally thought. A Harper Polling survey released yesterday shows Democratic challenger Tom Wolf leading Governor tom Corbett by 11 points, the narrowest margin in any of the polls released recently. A Franklin and Marshall College poll released last week showed Wolf leading by 25 and a recent Robert Morris University survey had Wolf with a 31 point lead.

 

A battle is brewing over Governor Tom Corbett's former special advisor, Ron Tomalis. 2 state senators butted heads this week over the need for an investigation into allegations Tomalis was a "ghost employee." Democrat Andy Dinniman says a hearing needs to be held to determine what, if anything, Tomalis did in his 140-thousand dollar-a-year position. Republican Mike Folmer is refusing the hearing, saying calls for one are politically motivated by those who hate the governor. Dinniman says not holding a hearing, "smacks of politics."

a dedication ceremony will be held at 11 tomorrow for bedford’s new world war 2 statue. it’s located at penn and juliana streets downtown and was created by sculptor wayne hyde of manns choice. thousands of bedford county residents fought in the war and 140 died.
