TRIPLE MURDER

LEWIS BEATTY SPENT THE WEEKEND IN THE INDIANA COUNTY JAIL CHARGED WITH THE MURDERS OF HIS ESTRANGED WIFE AND 2 DAUGHTERS, AGES 11 AND 6. STATE POLICE SAY CHRISTINE, AMANDA, AND SARA BEATTY WERE STABBED IN THE NECK FRIDAY NIGHT IN SOUTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP AND THEIR 2 MOBILE HOMES WERE ALSO BURNED. STATE POLICE PLAN TO RELEASE FURTHER DETAILS AT A NOON NEWS CONFERENCE.

FATHER-IN-LAW MURDERED

55 YEAR OLD RICHARD SCHOTTS OF NORTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP, INDIANA COUNTY, WAS KILLED EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AS HE TRIED TO PROTECT HIS DAUGHTER…NOW HIS SON-IN-LAW IS BEHIND BARS. AUTHORITIES SAY SHAUN FAIRMAN SHOT THE OTHER MAN THROUGH THE WINDOW OF JESSICA FAIRMAN’S HOME. JESSICA’S CHILDREN AND MOTHER WERE HIDING IN THE ATTIC AND WHEN SHAUN FOUND JESSICA IN ANOTHER ROOM, SHE SHOT BACK, WOUNDING HIM. SHAUN AND JESSICA WERE IN THE PROCESS OF A DIVORCE AND SHE HAD A PROTECTION-FROM-ABUSE ORDER AGAINST HIM.

TORNADO CONFIRMED

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS CONFIRMED THAT AN E-F-ZERO TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN WEST SAINT CLAIR TOWNSHIP, BEDFORD COUNTY AROUND 6:15 FRIDAY EVENING. THE TWISTER, WITH TOP WINDS OF 70 MILES PER HOUR, WAS ON THE GROUND FOR ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF BEFORE LIFTING UP AT THE INTERSECTION OF ROUTE 96 AND TOWNSHIP ROAD 606. IT DAMAGED 4 STRUCTURES.  ANOTHER TORNADO HIT NEAR LIGONIER, WESTMORELAND COUNTY, AND A MICROBURST CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IN IRVONA, CLEARFIELD COUNTY, WITH TOP WINDS OF 90 MILES PER HOUR.

SANDUSKY SCANDAL

BARRING A LAST-MINUTE DELAY OR PLEA BARGAIN, JURY SELECTION BEGINS TOMORROW FOR JERRY SANDUSKY’S TRIAL…AND CENTRE COUNTY OFFICIALS SAY THEY’RE READY TO HANDLE THE CRUSH OF MEDIA. EXTRA SECURITY WILL BE IN PLACE AND POLICE WILL PATROL THE AREA IN FRONT OF THE BELLEFONTE COURTHOUSE. EMT KILLED

HUNTINGDON COUNTY AUTHORITIES SAY AN E-M-T WAS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY SATURDAY MORNING WHEN THE AMBULANCE HE WAS RIDING IN CRASHED ALONG ROUTE 22 NEAR MAPLETON. 22 YEAR OLD ETHAN AMSBAUGH WAS PARTIALLY EJECTED WHEN THE VEHICLE STRUCK A ROAD SIGN AND A BANK, THEN ROLLED ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AMBULANCE WAS RETURNING FROM A ROUTINE PATIENT TRANSPORT. AMSBAUGH MOVED TO MOUNT UNION 6 MONTHS AGO TO WORK AS AN E-M-T.

TRUCK DRIVER TO STAND TRIAL

JURY SELECTION IS SET TO BEGIN TODAY IN CENTRE COUNTY FOR THE VEHICULAR HOMICIDE TRIAL OF NEW YORK TRACTORTRAILER DRIVER CENK ESENBEL. STATE POLICE SAY HIS RIG CRASHED INTO A DUMP TRUCK ON I-80 IN MARION TOWNSHIP LAST YEAR, KILLING 24 YEAR OLD KYLE ROYER OF CENTRE COUNTY. ESENBEL WAS DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE. HE REMAINS JAILED ON 150-THOUSAND DOLLARS BAIL.

MOM’S TRIAL WILL BEGIN SOON

IN CENTRE COUNTY COURT, JURY SELECTION IS SET TO BEGIN TODAY FOR THE TRIAL OF 39 YEAR OLD JULIE DICK-CARSON OF HUNTINGDON. POLICE SAY SHE WAS HUFFING FROM AN AEROSOL CAN WHEN SHE CRASHED HER CAR OFF A COLLEGE TOWNSHIP ROAD ONTO THE BANK OF SPRING CREEK LAST JULY. HER 1-YEAR-OLD SON WAS FLOWN TO GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER AND DICK-CARSON WAS ALSO INJURED. FIREFIGHTERS HAD TO RAPPEL DOWN THE STEEP EMBANKMENT AND USE A CRANE TO RESCUE THEM.

RUSSIAN ROBBERY RING WILL GO ON TRIAL

JURY SELECTION IS SET TO BEGIN TODAY…AND TESTIMONY JUNE 18TH…FOR THE TRIAL OF MAKSIM ILLARIONOV, DMITRIY LITVINOV AND ANATOLIY VERETNOV. THE STATE COLLEGE MEN ARE ACCUSED IN A STRING OF ROBBERIES AND BURGLARIES IN 2009 AND 2010. ILLARIONOV IS ALREADY SERVING 15 TO 30 YEARS AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY ON 3 COUNTS OF ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM. THE MEN’S FIRST TRIAL ENDED IN A MIS-TRIAL WHEN A 4TH DEFENDANT, ALEXEI SEMIONOV, CHANGED HIS PLEA TO GUILTY.
