man dies in wreck
a hollidaysburg man is dead after a crash about 1 this morning. the coroner’s office tells wtaj 22 year old jason henry junior swerved off chimney rocks road in blair township. his pickup rolled onto its side. henry’s passenger is being treated at upmc altoona.

POLICE SAY ROLES WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS WHEN HIS PICKUP crashED LAST YEAR, KILLING HIS SON, BRIAN ROLES JUNIOR, WHO WAS A SOPHOMORE AT CONEMAUGH VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL. Roles WAS drivING WITH A suspended LICENSE DUE TO A PREVIOUS D-U-I charge.

3 people, including a baby, were taken to upmc altoona following an accident yesterday afternoon at 12th Street and 12th Avenue. police say one driver ran a red light and struck a second vehicle driven by altoona parking authority employee don franks. his car then hit a woman holding a 13 month old child in her arms. She was standing on the sidewalk at the intersection. franks’ car continued into a sidewalk and the first car hit the entrance of the altoona trust company building. none of the victims are believed to have serious injuries. charges could be filed.

the preliminary hearing for 29 year old miranda jo weakland of altoona has been postponed until next wednesday so authorities can determine if she can be charged with aggravated assault of an unborn child under the state’s crimes code. weakland overdosed on someone else’s prescription medication last month and her baby was delivered by c-section. he suffered a seizure and had to be flown to the neo-natal i-c-u at johnstown’s memorial medical center.
