TODDLER KILLED IN CAMBRIA COUNTY

22 MONTH OLD REAGAN PATRICK FROM BEAVERDALE, CAMBRIA COUNTY, DIED AT CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN PITTSBURGH SATURDAY…NOW STATE POLICE HAVE FILED HOMICIDE CHARGES AGAINST 25 YEAR OLD PATRICK BURKETT. AUTHORITIES SAY BURKETT WAS BABYSITTING THE TODDLER FRIDAY. WHEN THE MOTHER CAME HOME FROM WORK, HER DAUGHTER WAS UNRESPONSIVE. SHE WAS TAKEN TO JOHNSTOWN’S MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER AND THEN FLOWN TO PITTSBURGH. THE ALLEGHENY COUNTY CORONER SAYS REAGAN DIED FROM BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO THE HEAD AND HER ENTIRE BODY WAS COVERED WITH BRUISES. BURKETT IS IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY PRISON. HE TOLD POLICE THE TODDLER FELL IN THE LIVING ROOM… MAY HAVE FALLEN OFF A BED…AND A DOG KNOCKED HER INTO A COFFEE TABLE AND THEN STEPPED ON HER SEVERAL TIMES. LATER, HE SAID SHE FELL OUTSIDE AND HIT HER HEAD ON A ROCK. OFFICIALS PLAN TO RELEASE MORE DETAILS AT A PRESS CONFERENCE THIS AFTERNOON.

MURDER ARREST 2 YEARS AFTER THE CRIME

ON JUNE 30TH 2010, 79 YEAR OLD ARTHUR HENRY WAS FOUND BADLY BEATEN INSIDE HIS MOBILE HOME IN NORTHERN CAMBRIA. HE DIED A FEW DAYS LATER. NOW STATE POLICE HAVE CHARGED SHERMAN HOLES OF CHERRY TREE WITH MURDER. HOLES WAS NAMED A SUSPECT SHORTLY AFTER IT HAPPENED AND POLICE FOUND HIM HIDING IN A TRAILER IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY. NOW D-N-A HAS REPORTEDLY LINKED HOLES TO THE CRIME SCENE.

THE MIDDLE STATES COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION HAS PUT PENN STATE ON WARNING STATUS, SAYING INFORMATION IN THE FREEH REPORT AND THE NCAA PENALTIES PUTS ITS STATUS IN JEOPARDY. LAST MONTH, THE CUSTODIAL STAFF DISCOVERED 2 HOLES IN LOCKERS LOCATED NEXT TO A STORAGE ROOM, BUT THE WALL ON THE OTHER SIDE WAS BLOCKED FROM FLOOR TO CEILING BY HEAVY BOXES AND OTHER LARGE SUPPLIES. CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING.
